With the rest of the nation, we are mourning the passing of a formidable woman and a life well lived. Queen Elizabeth II is the ever-present monarch that most of us will only ever have known. With the greatest of respect and sadness, we are closing on Monday 19th September to allow our staff and our customers time to remember and honour our Queen in their own way and for the state funeral. Many of our customers and suppliers have taken the same approach and we feel it is right that we take time to commemorate someone who epitomised service and duty for the duration of her life.
From all of us at Alide Hire, we simply say, “Thank you Ma’am.” We shall not see another like you again in our lifetime.
Above Par for Charity at our Golf Day
A warm and sunny Friday at the beginning of the month saw us take over the fairway at Saltford Golf Club, our sponsorship partners, for our Annual Charity Golf Day as part of our 40th year celebrations. And what a day it was!
The support we received from our loyal suppliers and customers has been nothing short of amazing – we really couldn’t have done it without you. We would like to give particular thanks to our sponsors; CBL, Snorkel, Dial Marketing and Atom Insurance who made a Hole in One extremely attractive with a £10k prize fund sadly unclaimed!
Nearest the Pin, Longest Drive, Closest in 2 Shots and Beat the Pro were all perfectly hosted and briefed with the help of Worcester Warriors rugby legend, Matt Powell.
Bath Rugby and England veteran David Flatman brought some great entertainment to the day and also offered his famous BBQ lunch with a Dyson Farms meat as just one of the fantastic auction prizes available.
Liquid refreshment was provided by the fantastic ‘Flow on the Go’ Cocktail bar – a fabulous converted retro camper van from the lovely team at Flow Bar Frome. From the bacon rolls at the start to the fantastic BBQ on the Terrace overlooking the 18th hole at the end and the celebration of the ‘Worst Shot of the Day.’
It was a day to remember for all the right reasons, and with all donations going directly to our two very worthy causes, we managed to raise over £12,000 for our charities, Sporting Family Change and The Lily Foundation. A huge thank you to all of you who made it the day it was and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Special thanks to our team of Alide helpers on the day who also went above and beyond to make it work!
Awards Season – The Return
This month sees the return of the Awards Season in Bristol and Bath celebrating the dynamic property sector – and we’re going for gold again in an attempt to retain our double title win from last year in the Suppliers and Services category.
The nominations will be revealed next week for Bath in a Grand Reveal Day online on 21 September. The winners will be announced in a gala dinner on 4 November where the best of Bath property suppliers and companies shaping the City’s landscape will come together at the Apex Hotel.
Ashton Gate hosts the Bristol Property Awards just 3 weeks later on November 25 when the City’s vibrant sector is celebrated and we defend our Suppliers and Services award for the second year! Watch this space in our November newsletter to see how we get on!
Seasonal hire changes
As the climate is starting to change, our order book changes with it, and air conditioning units and fans are replaced with mobile heating and lighting equipment as the temperatures start to drop and the nights draw in.
Our environmentally focused Ecolite tower reduces fuel consumption and other running costs by up to 80%. With red diesel now banned since April, we’ve got lots of cost effective alternatives ideal for outdoor use now in stock.
The influx of battery powered and eco-machines is providing a welcome substitute and making way for some fantastic and innovative products that we’re really pleased to be able to share with customers. Don’t forget to follow our social channels, on Facebook, Twitter, Insta and Linkedin, for regular updates of all new arrivals to the fleet.
